Howard Moore
Doubleheader weekend brings Moore to Oklahoma and Texas
After taking a week off to regroup, Howard Moore returned to action on Friday evening at Lawton (OK) Speedway for the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series-sanctioned Sooner State Showdown.
With 30 Sprinters signed in at quarter-mile oval, Moore recorded a consistent ninth-place finish in his heat before advancing into the opener with a eighth-to-fith showing in the Last Chance Showdown. Starting the $12,000-to-win Sooner State Showdown in 23rd, Howard climbed two positions to finish 21st.
Competing with the POWRi 410 Outlaw Sprint Series on Saturday at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, Texas, Howard was able to pilot his Mike's Pool Care No. 40 Sprint Car in the preliminary events. However, Mother Nature intervened, canceling his B-Main, where he was set to start from the pole position in the consolation race.
