Howard Moore battles with World of Outlaws at I-55 Raceway

Howard Moore made the nearly four-hour haul to Federated Auto Parts Raceway at I-55 in Pevely, Missouri, over the weekend to battle with the best in the business during the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car Series Spring Classic.

Facing a loaded 62-car roster, Moore had his work cut out for him from the start. He timed in 19th in his qualifying group on Friday before finishing ninth in his heat race. Relegated to the Last Chance Showdown, the Memphis, Tennessee native gained ground with an 11th-place finish but came up short of a transfer spot into the A-Main.

Returning to action on Saturday, Moore looked to improve his fortunes and crack the lineup for the $12,000-to-win finale. After battling through the Last Chance Showdown once again, he came up just four spots shy of a transfer position with an eighth-place effort in the 12-lap sprint.
